Gradale Learning Philosophy

Gradale Academy promotes the appreciation of nature while learning about outdoors and our natural environment. Our new locations will continue with this philisophy - Sunnybrook location (Fall 2024) is a short walking distance from Serena Gundy Park/Sunnybrook ravine and will continue classes and programs from Kindergarten up to Grade 6.  

Gradale is truly like no other school, enabling our students with an enriching outdoor learning experience. We foster a sense of environmental stewardship in an academically strong and focused program with smaller class sizes.

Our location is a year-round destination unique for learning, collaboration, fun and celebration of the themes of nature, culture and community. 

Our students are given opportunities to explore, research and be part of the outdoors daily.

We encourage all of our students to recognize the importance of outdoor education and the crucial practices of getting in touch with our community and the environment that surrounds us daily.

It is well documented and proven that all children learn better when they are given more communication with the outdoors. A little more than a third of our day is spent outdoors. Our education program supports strong academic time with a balance of outdoor creative learning.
