Parent Involvement

Reports for Parents

Parents will receive two written report cards. One in mid December and one in mid June at which time parent/teacher interviews will take place.

Homework

Homework may be given to students from Senior Kindergarten to Grade three. The homework will be a review of what has been taught in class, often we use this time for parents to get more involved with what their child has been learning at Gradale Academy. If a student has been absent for an extended period of time we may ask parents to help at home so their child can get caught up with his/her peers.

Parent Committee/Volunteer

Every parent is welcome to volunteer on any outings or field trips that we may attend. We often ask for parent volunteers during special events such as our annual school picnic. Any assistance is always welcome in all areas within the school.

Annual School Events

Parents' night, a Wine and Cheese event held the second week in October. It is a great way to meet other parents and talk to our staff in a less formal way, and tour the school. Fund raising for the school year will also take place at this time.

A visit to a pumpkin farm, third week in October

Winter Concert followed by our seasonal celebration. This is held mid December.

Special Mother's Day Tea Party and Concert.

Second visit to the farm to celebrate Spring/Summer

Other Field Trips may take place throughout the school year to help assist our program.

Graduation and School Picnic at the end of the school year - the whole school participates.
